The Create Music CD was designed to enhance musical and other creative activities within nursery and primary school environments.
We thought it was time to open the doors to new musical possibilities found within percussion instruments. Create Music was designed from the tones and harmonies of the instruments themselves. Here, the individual sounds have merged together, in transit to a variety of luminous atmospheres and hypnotic moods.
Create Music emerged while searching for musical pathways where children might play. These pieces are aural landscapes for dreams and adventures, doorways to imaginative worlds. This music was created primarily with percussion instruments. These special instruments are simple, yet exotic, primitive sound makers with complex personalities. They are timeless sound treasures unchanging a hundred years.
Recordings were performed by Jon Keliehor and Signy Jakobsdottir in the summer of 1999, at the Luminous Music studio in Glasgow.
