LUMINOUS COMPOSER ..(also known as) ..O N E ..M I N U T E ..M A X

One Minute Max is a highly creative composition project in which instruments and abstract composition ideas are the catalyst for forming instant groups of 2-4 musicians (usually up to 8 groups) who develop their own music. One Minute Max is a 7-session project that begins with large group compositional experiments for everyone to learn from. Small groups form with the remaining hours dedicated to making “the most original music possible”.

Compositional scope is wide ranging, from imaginary film scores, poetry and music, rap, pop, multi-cultural and experimental. Each group selects instruments, rehearses and prepares to record their music onto CD. Everyone's efforts pervade the space and children are inspired by each other. The project becomes personal, local and competitive in the best sense.
