Return to Dragon Island.tif

The adventure begins as the children board the boat departing for their holiday to the Island of Hills and Flowers.  The children arrive only to discover a terribly misspelled hand-written sign directing them to leave the island immediately.  It seems that the Island now belongs to a powerful dragon who controls the Island from a castle tower, and NO STRANGERS ARE ALLOWED!   But alas, the boat has departed, and now the children will have to stay for awhile.  There might be danger ahead.  Will the Dragon permit them to stay and play on the island?  How can they find the dragon? Where does it live?

Finding clues left by the last visitors, the children hide in a temple where they make a plan to encounter the dragon and negotiate their stay.  Why is this dragon so angry anyway? Can we offer a gift, or make some music to appease the dragon or will we have to fight?  Maybe we had better prepare for both possibilities.

Luminous Music Myth-Making Workshops

This 1-2 hour workshop is suitable for children from 4 to 8 years of age.  It can be enacted outdoors or in a large indoor space.

During the workshop children devise their own music and movements for various parts of the story.  If they should happen to find a very angry dragon, a special martial arts dance is created.  Thus the children prepare, developing their negotiation skills to deal with dragon logic, which can be quite subtle and cunning as we all know.

Two-three workshop leaders from Luminous Music and two classroom assistants direct the activities at various locations.
