Luminous Music offer a series of hands-on World Percussion Music workshops for students age 12-16. These programmes are highly detailed explorations of world music rhythms, instruments and cultural expectations.  They allow the student to explore ways in which world percussion music has influenced musicians and composers in all fields of music.

More importantly our workshops include experiences in playing the instruments of the Indonesian Gamelan Orchestra, or discovering the rich tonalities of hand drums and percussion from our high quality instruments originating from various world cultures.

Through these programmes students become aware of the way in which important artistic and cultural ideologies  have entered into the music of our own culture.

Workshops are usually implemented by two workshop leaders, collaborating to bring a multi-experiential approach to participants. Workshop leaders provide abundant musical demonstrations, as well as direct hands-on guidance during the course of each session.
